About ROD GLOVEr
Rod was born with art and craft projects in his soul and continued his arts education with a concentration in fibers and art history. He loves creating images on paper. For his botanical collages, he presses and dries plants and creates ephemeral works that are forever in the process of change.
Rod has always lived near a river and opened his first full time studio near Rocky Marsh Run in 2019 after many years in the urban world. He is now happily creating in the renovated barn behind his cottage in Shepherdstown, WV. Rod’s inspiration comes from memories of day-long mountain wanders on his grandparents farm when he was a child and his love of wandering in woods and fields.
Rod also paints, constructs with scrap wood, consults on design projects and lives up to his nickname “cooks with herbs” by cooking for friends and family.
He never knows when a whisper or a breeze or a scent will lead him to a moment of discovery often in small, overlooked details.
